Indifference Among The YOUTH

Posted by SuperHypersonic under SuperHyperSonic

“Youth & Indifference” -This is another one of my printed articles. Again was written around more than a year back , so the examples illustrated are relevant to that time.

“I: Proud to be Indifferent?”

Today’s India is ‘Young India’. Statistical surveys reflect that 54% of India’s population is below 25 years of age. Other statistics indicate that nearly 70% of Indian people are around 35 years old. Also, nearly every survey shows that the youth are focused & ambitious.
This is a highly appropriate setting on which to build not only a stable but a successful future for the country. With so many young minds it could also mean the inception of India as the next superpower.
However, the stark reality is that though the youth are indeed ambitious but their ambitions are limited to their careers, whose concerns are thoroughly personal rather than social, who are consumerist but conservative, and who have nothing but ignorance and apathy for the burning issues of their country.
