Another experiment with a short story with unnamed characters

“A Spark in August”

I stood back and let the ocean cool my feet.
As the waves brushed against my toes, I waited and yet I felt nothing. I gazed across the endless vastness of the water in front of me and you didn’t cross my mind. Something sparkled under the water. I bent down and found a colorful shell.
I picked it, washed the sand off it and looked over its brilliant color.
It made me smile and it didn’t hurt anymore to smile.
I thought I had forgotten to smile. And yet here I was, miles away from you, miles away from anyone who could know how I am feeling. So isolated and yet feeling a sense of harmony.

A spark in August is the way this loss begun.
Hot and uncontrolled. And all that remained were hollow spaces all around. I know not what wronged us. Then, I knew not how I could feel better. I only knew I had to get away. And so, dipping my feet in the cool water here I was.

Happy and Unbound

We manage to sit across time
Even in separate continents.

Two children,happy and unbound.
Who try to put their days side by side,
when the other has never been around.
